Nursing Research & Quality Department

The Nursing Research and Quality Department (NRQ) provides oversight for nursing research/quality and evidence-based practice activities. Nursing quality initiatives focus on the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) and the hospital Nursing Quality Plan. The NRQ Director also co-chairs the Nursing Research Council with a staff nurse member and implements other activities that promote a culture of evidence-based practice for the nursing organization. Opportunities are being developed for nurses to learn more about research and to share experiences through activities such as:

  • Journal clubs, lunch-and-learn sessions, seminars and workshops and grand rounds
  • Evidence-based practice fellowships
  • Collaboration with local universities and colleges
  • Consultative support to nurses for the development of research proposals and grants, as well as poster/ paper presentations at professional nursing conferences
