The Spine Center is comprised of a collaborative team skilled in the medical and surgical treatment of spinal disorders. The full spectrum of medical and surgical care for spinal disorders is available.

The United Pain Clinic and the Sister KennyŽ Rehabilitation Institute lead the effort in the medical management of spinal disease. Minnesota Oncology, PA leads the effort in the medical treatment of tumors of the spine. United Neurosurgery Associates and St. Paul Radiology provide the full spectrum of modern surgical techniques for the treatment of spinal disorders.

Blue Distinction Centers for Spine SurgeryŽ

United Hospital has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. The selection criteria for the Blue Distinction Centers for Spine Surgery was developed with input from expert physicians and medical organizations and include a comprehensive evaluation of structure, process, and outcome measures.

Blue Distinction Centers for Spine Surgery demonstrate a commitment to quality care and offer comprehensive inpatient spinal surgical services, including discectomy, fusion, and decompression procedures. To be selected for this designation, United Hospital had to demonstrate excellent performance with prevention of post-operative infections, use of evidenced based medical guidelines, post-op pain management, physician credentialing and training, and low rates of re-admission following surgery, to name just a few.
